James Mize (b.1998) Is a multidisciplinary, self-taught artist from Southern California. His practice is rooted in the exploration of ‘lived experience’. Deeply curious about the natural world, the artist's’ work is an evolving reflection of unfolding occurrences around — themes of spiritual awakenings, emotion, gender identity, dreams, sexuality and ever-shifting perception of the self.

As a form of intuitive expression, the artist invites viewers to absorb his work through the beauty of interconnectedness and rejecting hierarchy in both subject, role and form. By tuning into this vulnerability, the artist invites others into a state of non-judgmentally; feeling, remembering, becoming.
